If you caught the news about the steam pipe explosion in NYC yesterday you probably saw photos/video of a geyser-like mess in midtown. That whole mess was actually the back door of my office. Thankfully I was working from home and got to watch the whole thing on TV, but my building was evacuated and still has no power (and was shut for the day today! yippee!)
Anyway, I can’t imagine how nasty it was in midtown yesterday. It was already humid, if not incredibly warm, and the addition of dirty mess must have made it super icky. Not to mention the inherent danger in a steam pipe explosion.
