024_geisha.jpgOne of the things I’ve learned while living in New York is that people will create beauty in the most disgusting places from the most revolting things.  I’ve seen lower east side trash piles decorated into garbarge gardens with park-like arrangements, and wind chimes made from roadway debris.  Calling those things beautiful would be stretching it.  But they’re certainly interesting to the eye, and they are compelling to look at.
